Stoirtap is a high-stakes card game of emotion, skill, and luck. The Liberty Stoirtap Division (LSD) is headed into its
fourth season in 2006.
Stoirtap is played with a regular deck of 52 cards. Up to 52 players may play, however the current single game record
is 21. All players declare a single card from the deck as "their card". A single card may not be declared by multiple players.
After all have selected their cards, the first round begins. Cards are selected one at a time. If a player's card is selected,
they move on to the next round. After every round, a few players whose cards were not selected are eliminated (the number
to be eliminated each round is decided before each game based on the number of players. As the rounds progress, there is typically
a "lightning round" in which many players are eliminated before the final round, where the two remaining players square off
in a head to head battle.
